Every June 21, the United Nations hosts International Yoga Day around the world to make the world aware of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that has its origins in India. The word “yoga” comes from Sanskrit and means participation or connection, which symbolizes the connection of body and consciousness.
Aware of this important role of yoga, this year’s International Yoga Day commemoration focuses on “Yoga for Good” – how practicing yoga can improve the overall health of each individual.
